Yann Durieux - Recrue des Sens 'Black Pinot', 2018
With his decade long experience at Domaine Prieuré Roch, Yann Durieux, decided it was time to start his own winery Recrue des Sens in 2010. Working on a small area just 3 hectares in size up the hills of the Hautes Cote de Nuits in Villers La Faye, and with DRC as a neighbour, Durieux continued his focus on producing wines as naturally as he could All of his wines are certified organic biodynamic.Vineyards have never been damaged by chemical. Hand picked grapes are fermented with whole bunch with natural yeast, and wines are aged in old barrel. No SO2 added, non filtered.
The 2018 Black Pinot is direct and brutal and yet smooth and fruity, with a complex aromatic nose. The palate is smooth and pleasing. A rich Pinot Noir, without a hint of wood!
