The Macallan - 67 Years 1950 Exceptional Single Cask 2018/ASB-1683/13
The Macallan 67 Years Old 1950 Exceptional Single Cask is a remarkable expression from one of The Macallan's most celebrated collections of rare single cask releases. Distilled on 9 November 1950 and matured for sixty-seven years at The Macallan Estate near Craigellachie in Speyside, Scotland, this exceptional single malt was selected from a single American oak first fill sherry butt and bottled in 2018 as part of The Macallan Exceptional Single Cask series. With only 336 bottles produced, this release represents a rare piece of whisky history, showcasing the extraordinary depth and character that can emerge from more than six decades of maturation.
On the nose, it reveals aromas of dried fruits, polished oak, leather, antique furniture and rich spices, accompanied by hints of orange peel and dark chocolate. On the palate, layers of raisins, dates, cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa and mature oak unfold with remarkable complexity, balanced by the elegance of a spirit that has spent decades developing in sherry-seasoned wood. The finish is exceptionally long and refined, with lingering notes of dried fruits, spice, dark chocolate and seasoned oak.
