The Macallan - Horizon

The Macallan Horizon is a landmark collaboration between The Macallan and Bentley Motors, bringing together two houses united by their dedication to craftsmanship, innovation and exceptional design. Crafted at The Macallan Estate near Craigellachie in Speyside, Scotland, this limited release represents a fusion of traditional whisky-making expertise and contemporary luxury, presented in a distinctive horizontal vessel inspired by the aerodynamic lines and engineering philosophy of Bentley automobiles. Created by The Macallan Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell, the whisky was matured from six carefully selected first fill sherry seasoned oak casks, each chosen for its ability to contribute depth, intensity and balance to this exceptional expression.

On the nose, it reveals resinous polished oak with plums and dark cherries, alongside aromatic fresh leather and herbal leafy notes. Layers of dried fruits emerge with sticky dates, raisins and sultanas, complemented by sweet cinnamon, nutmeg and a subtle hint of cloves. On the palate, it is wonderfully rich and indulgent, unfolding with dark treacle, cinder toffee, crystallised ginger and charred pineapple, followed by sweet vanilla pods, fudge, dark chocolate-coated Brazil nuts and warming oak spice. The finish is rich, long and complex, with lingering notes of mature oak and elegant spice.
