Ardbeg – Uigeadail old bottling

Ardbeg Uigeadail is one of the flagship expressions from Ardbeg Distillery, located on Scotland's rugged Isle of Islay. Founded in 1815, Ardbeg has earned a cult following for producing some of the world's most intensely peated single malt whiskies. Islay is renowned for maritime influences, medicinal peat smoke, and coastal character, all of which are showcased in Uigeadail. Named after the loch that supplies Ardbeg's water source, this expression combines ex-bourbon and sherry cask maturation to create a richer and more complex interpretation of the distillery's signature style. On the nose, it opens with waves of campfire smoke, smoked bacon, dark chocolate, raisins, and dried fruit. The palate is rich and oily with flavours of peat smoke, espresso, treacle, roasted nuts, and sweet sherry influence. The finish is long and warming with lingering maritime salinity, spice, and aromatic smoke.
