Old Pulteney – 38 Years
Old Pulteney 38 Years is a mature single malt whisky produced at Old Pulteney Distillery in Wick, Highlands. Established in 1826, Old Pulteney is often referred to as "The Maritime Malt" due to its close proximity to the North Sea and its historic association with Scotland's herring industry. The Highland region is renowned for producing diverse whisky styles, and Old Pulteney's coastal location contributes a distinctive salty and maritime character. After thirty-eight years of maturation, this expression displays exceptional complexity and refinement. On the nose, it offers sea spray, honey, dried fruits, polished oak, vanilla, and citrus peel. The palate is rich and elegant with flavours of toffee, orchard fruits, dark chocolate, and subtle coastal salinity. The finish is exceptionally long with notes of oak spice, honey, and lingering maritime freshness.
